FAQ: 1-2-3 Click n Submit Softwares

How does it work?
A: It is simple. Just enter the URL to your PAD file, choose the software download sites you want your software to be submitted to, choose the best category from different category sets, enter your affiliate ids, if you have any, and then click Submit. Then have a cup of coffee and watch 1-2-3 Click n Submit Softwares as it submits your software to 100's of websites.

Can I use this software to submit freeware/shareware?
A: Yes, you can use this software to submit any kind of software including sharewares and freewares.

What is a PAD file?
A: PAD file is a standard driven by Association of Shareware Professional (ASP). It is the best and most common format to publish your software specifications. More and more software download sites are accepting PAD files. It is very easy to generate a PAD file for your softwares. Visit ASP Website for more information on PAD files. Do I have to have a PAD file to use this software?
A: Yes. It makes the process simple and easy if you have a PAD file defined. See for more information on PAD files.

What is the advantage of having a PAD file?
A: The main advantage is that it is the simplest way of putting together all the user specifications of your software. More and more software download sites are using PAD files to grab the information about your software. The biggest advantage however is that most of these software download sites have their own robots that revisit your PAD file URL from time to time, say every two weeks or so, and update the information. So you don't have to resubmit to every software doewnload site every time you make another release. Just update your PAD file and eventually all the sites would be updated.

Do I have to resubmit my software when I make a new release?
A: It does not hurt to resubmit. But many of the software download sites crawl to your PAD file URL from time to time, say every two weeks or so and update the information about your software. So you don't have to resubmit to every software doewnload site every time you make another release. Just update your PAD file and eventually all the sites would be updated.

Why does it have four different sets of categories in the software?
A: Different software download sites use different category set. We want to make sure that your software is submitted to the best category in each and every software download site. That is why the software asks you to choose the best category in each of the category sets.

Where can I find the response files that are displayed in the report?
A: The files are stored in your application directory under Program Files. Open up Windows Explorer and go to the root of your boot drive, usually c:\. Then go to Program Files. If it asks, click on Show Files, and then click on 1-2-3 Click n Submit Softwares. You will see all the html files in there. Do not touch any other files in this folder or your software may not run properly.
